What Covid19 measures are in place to keep us safe when we stay with you?
We are committed to keeping our guests and staff safe without impacting negatively on guest enjoyment whilst on holiday. Our Covid19 policies will be evolving continuously and we will be updating our website when any changes occur. Please visit our Safe Reopening Plan for a comprehensive and up to date list of Covid19 measures in place.
What security measures are in place to keep us safe when we stay with you?
- Our entrance and exit operates a barrier system and is manned by our knowledgable and experienced security team. They will assist you on the best place to park whether you are a self catering, hotel or day visitor when you arrive.
- Our team are well versed to deal with all sorts of emergency situations and we have CCTV in operation in all public areas of the resort.
- There is good mobile phone and Wifi signal throughout the Resort. Should you see anything of concern, no matter how minor you may think it is – please contact our 24 hour manned reception and let us know immediately.
- Regular patrols operate 24 hours a day within the hotel and externally across the Resort.
- Our reception is manned 24 hours a day everyday.
- We ensure all fire exits and staircases are kept clear.
- Our housekeeping and wider team are trained to report any suspicious activity or people.
- Security records and logs are kept up to date.
- For female guests travelling alone, we carefully consider room allocation.
- We have a close partnership with local police and emergency services.
- We will not accept the storage of overnight luggage.
- All public areas of our Resort are brightly lit
Whilst we can’t disclose all security procedures on our website in full, we want to let you know that our Resort has a range of procedures and evacuations that are appropriate depending on the type and severity of the situation.
I booked on a flexible rate. Can I cancel my booking?
The usual 48 hour cancellation policy applies.
I booked on an Advance Saver Rate. Can I change the date of my booking?
Bookings will remain prepaid and non-refundable. Should there be a localised lockdown in St Ives as a result of Covid-19 then we would be able to refund the stay or move to an alternative date (subject to availability and rate changes may apply) however if Tregenna/St Ives is open then no refund would be offered, only a change in reservation dates.
Can I move the date of my stay?
Bookings will remain prepaid and non-refundable (usual 25% deposit at the time of booking with balance paid 6 weeks prior to arrival).
Should there be a localised lockdown in St Ives as a result of Covid-19 then we would be able to refund the stay or move to an alternative date (subject to availability and rate changes may apply) however if Tregenna/St Ives is open then no refund would be offered, only a change in reservation dates.
The property that was originally booked will be subject to availability for the new dates chosen.

How do I book online?
Click the ‘Book ’ button to the right of this page or at the top right of this page. Put in your arrival date, number of nights and number of adults and click ‘SEARCH’. This will take you to a page which will give you rates for the different room types. It’s fairly simple, give it a go! You can rest assured that booking through our online system guarantees you the best rate at the time of booking.
I am bringing children, how do I book a family room?
Family rooms with a cot or children’s bed are better booked over the phone as we need to ensure we allocate a good sized room to you. Call our team on 01736 795254. Alternatively, browse through our self catering properties, with plenty of space for everyone.
How do I book a special offer?
View our Offers page and click on the section that interests you. You can click 'BOOK' from there. Alternatively Click ‘BOOK’ on the top right of the main page. Put in your arrival date, number of nights, number of adults and click ’SEARCH’. Special offers need to be paid in full at the time of reservation.
What is the best way to book - online or over the phone?
All bookings can be made either online or over the phone. The online booking process is very simple and easy to use. If you have any difficulties and would like to speak to someone in person, please call our team on 01736 795254.
What hours can I call the hotel?
A dedicated member of our team will be answering calls and taking bookings between the hours of 9am to 5pm seven days a week.
We answer each call personally and don’t hold people in a queue so please be patient or call back if you don’t get through first time. We definitely want to speak to you!
Outside these hours the calls will be answered by our hotel reception desk, or by answerphone. Your details can be taken and we will call you back at a convenient time for you. Out of hours you can book accommodation through our online booking system.
What happens if I need to change my accommodation booking?
We will do our best to accommodate any changes, as long as we have availability in the hotel for your new dates. If the new dates are a higher rate, you will be asked to pay the difference. Just email our team on email@example.com or call 01736 795254.
What happens if I need to cancel my accommodation booking?
We reserve the right to retain the deposit. If the stay was booked as a special offer, the full payment will be retained.
What times are check in or check out?
Check in for the hotel is at 4pm and check out is at 11am. Check in for self catering is 5pm and check out is 10am Storing luggage is no problem. If you need different check in/check out times, please email us on firstname.lastname@example.org or call us on 01736 795254 and we will try our best to accommodate your request but please note that it cannot be guaranteed.
Can I bring a dog?
Service dogs are welcomed but no other pets are permitted to stay at Tregenna Castle Resort.
Is travel insurance required?
We strongly advise that you protect your payment by purchasing travel insurance.
How far is the nearest airport?
The hotel is 22 miles away from Newquay airport. Car hire is available from the airport. There are usually some taxis waiting outside the arrival area, however, it is best to book a taxi prior to your arrival.
How far is the hotel from the nearest train station
St Ives train station is located above Porthminster beach. You can walk up from the station to the Resort in about 20 minutes. A taxi will cost about £6 and takes around five minutes.
To reach St Ives train station, you will need to change trains at St Erth station and take the branch line for what is one of the most scenic routes in the UK.
Is there WiFi at the estate/resort?
We have complimentary WiFi available to all guests in the Reception/Lobby area. In addition to this, there are other localised WiFi access points around the estate.
What is provided in our hotel rooms?
We provide toiletries, tea and coffee making facilities, and a hairdryer. Our sheets and duvet covers are white and our towels are huge!
What is provided in the properties?
The properties vary in size and facilities, so please refer back to the specific property pages on our website for full details. Each property has tea towels, an oven cloth, a ‘j’ cloth, a few dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid, some toilet rolls and kitchen roll to get you started.
How far is the town centre from Tregenna Castle Resort?
St Ives town centre and the beach is a 15–20 minute walk downhill from the hotel. It’s an uphill walk on the way back, so some people prefer to take a taxi back instead of facing the hills. Taxis can be organised at the hotel reception and cost about £6 each way.
Why is St Ives the holiday destination for me?
Set in breathtaking coastal scenery, St Ives gives something special to every visit that will make you want to return again and again.
St Ives is the art centre of West Cornwall. Artists were attracted to the area from the 19th Century onwards. In the 20th Century, St Ives became a haven for giants of British Modernism, notably Barbara Hepworth and Ben Nicholson.
St Ives and the surrounding area is alive with an artistic heritage and sensibility found nowhere else in south-western England. The Tate St Ives offers constantly changing exhibitions as well as its remarkable permanent collection of art. The Leach Pottery in St Ives was established by Bernard Leach in 1920. One of the great figures of 20th century art, Leach played a crucial pioneering role in creating an identity for artist potters in Britain and around the world.
The town itself arcs around the harbour – the heart of the historic fishing community with the legacy of fishing boats bobbing in the harbour. Families can play on the beaches of golden sand and explore winding cobbled streets, finding treasures such as the wide range of small independent shops, galleries, restaurants, and pubs.
With the benefit of the warmth of the Gulf Stream, the area also enjoys a mild sub-tropical climate.
Year round, St Ives has the power to captivate and enthral. With a busy events calendar, the town is often buzzing with excitement from the Feast Day in February (with the traditional hurling of the silver ball), to home-grown theatre productions, the St Ives September Festival, and the year ending with Christmas celebrations and the renowned New Year’s Eve event where fancy dress is nearly obligatory!
