There’s plenty to discover at Tregenna Castle Resort: a family friendly destination in one of the most spectacular settings in Cornwall. You’re sure to find a holiday that you’ll treasure, whether you’re seeking some peaceful relaxation or a stay that’s packed full of activities to keep the kids entertained. We have 72 acres where children can run around and explore, as well as organised activities at the Ofsted-approved Castle Kids’ club. There are stunning views of the turquoise sea and golden sands of St Ives:  just a ten minute walk away. The seaside town buzzes with activity during the summer, with events and art exhibitions. Tregenna is located in the heart of Cornwall, perfect for exploring then returning to your comfortable accommodation to unwind and relax.

Everyone loves a beach day – Surf’s up!

Relax and enjoy the sun and the warm sand between your toes on St Ives’ golden sandy beaches, while the kids are busy and occupied. If swimming and sandcastles aren’t enough, why not challenge your beach babies to the thrill of learning to surf? This and other exciting water sports are available at the  St Ives Surf School. Trained instructors lead surf lessons, coasteering, kayaking and paddle boarding. Encourage your kids to get active in the ocean, while you soak up the sunshine from your deckchair.

The Barbara Hepworth Museum

Cornwall is world renowned for its beautiful countryside, and here at Tregenna Castle Resort, you are right in the heart of it. With our own enchanting woodland walks, leading you through our own nature towards St Ives, the journey starts here. The Barbara Hepworth Museum and Gardens are a must-see during your stay. Stroll through the sub-tropical gardens and draw inspiration from the very same place that gave Hepworth hers. Walk amongst nature and the sculptures of this magnificent museum and feel instantly at peace.

Coastal Walks – Lelant Walk and Carbis Bay

You’ve reached the soft golden beaches of St Ives, the waves are gently lapping at your feet, the sun is shining on your back and you need to choose where to head off with your family next. There are two main coastal walks you can enjoy with your family during your holiday in St Ives. The first is the Lelant (Porthkidney) Walk. With the sea on your left, start at the end of Lambeth Walk, at the St Ives Arts Club. Keep to the marked coastal path and half way along your walk you will discover Carbis Bay, a popular destination for families and locals alike. The next leg of the journey is up a fairly steep hill, but if you want to opt for the easier route, and avoid giving piggy backs on the way, you can catch a wonderful train taking the scenic route back into St Ives.

For full information on how to access this walk please see here.

Coastal Walks – Zennor Village

The walk from St Ives to Zennor Village along the north coast of Cornwall is a longer journey at 6 miles, taking about four hours each way. It’s worthwhile not just for the exercise (that will guarantee the little ones get a good night’s sleep), but also the views, which are spectacular. This walk is not for the faint hearted, however, as some sections require you to clamber and climb over rocks. But, if you’re looking for a rewarding day trip and some time alone, simply leave your little ones with us at Castle Kids, and be at one with nature as you explore the fantastic natural beauty of St Ives and the surrounding areas.

Daily Activities at Tregenna

Tregenna’s Castle Kids organises daily themed activities, to make the school holidays fly by. We’ll challenge their imagination, get their creative juices flowing and encourage friendships with their fellow mini-guests. Activities include art and craft and movies with popcorn.

We’ll banish the words, “I’m bored” and keep them entertained and looking forward to the next day’s activities. You can entrust them to us, knowing that Ofsted approves of all we do and they’re in safe, experienced hands. They’ll be busy creating magical Cornish holiday memories to last a lifetime.
