Golf Coaching with Wayne Graham - PGA professional

Wayne Graham is the resident PGA professional at the training academy at Hayle Golf Driving Range. He turned professional at the age of twenty after a very successful amateur career, which included representing Cornwall at all levels.

He qualified as a full member of the Professional Golfers Association in 1998 and has been using his skills and knowledge to teach and develop golfers of all ages and abilities for more than 15 years. After working as teaching professional at Tehidy Park and Treloy golf clubs, he is now committed to the training academy at Hayle Driving Range, where his straight forward, modern approach to learning and developing the game is appreciated by his many students.

He said “I teach men and women- and children- of all ages and abilities, from complete beginners through to county and national champions. After 26 years playing the game I love, 16 as a professional, I can communicate with people who are picking up a golf club for the first time and who want to develop solid foundations right through the ability range to the scratch golfer looking to hone the finer points of their game.”

Wayne’s approach to teaching is straightforward and modern, and is based on simplifying the fundamentals of the golf swing. He said” I know that no two golfers are the same, so I tailor my instruction to the needs of the individual. Each student has their own goals, and I adjust my lessons accordingly. I keep a file on each student, and know what’s important for them to achieve to improve as a golfer.”

His ability as a coach is well known. He is currently a Cornwall County Academy Coach and works with the Lee Westwood Academy, positions that see him involved in the nurturing of Cornwall’s up and coming young golfers. He has an unrivalled passion for the game and is constantly working to develop his knowledge. His personal development sees him regularly attend educational seminars in areas ranging from golf fitness to club fitting.
